Business or Job?

Do You Own Your Business… or Does Your Business Own You?

Chances are, you started your business because you wanted to be your own boss.

You wanted the freedom that comes from setting your own schedule.  You already knew how to do the work – why not go into business for yourself and not have to share the profits of your work with anyone else?  It all sounds very logical.

From years of experience, however, I can tell you that most of the time this dream never materializes.  Yes, every business owner has succeeded in getting rid of their boss.  But that rarely leads to the freedom they were expecting.  Why?  Because if they do not get out of bed and go to work, they do not get paid.  Most business owners fail to grow their company to the point where it offers them actual freedom.  I’ve got news for you, if you cannot take a week away from your business without it falling apart, or if you cannot stay home when you are sick without all hell breaking loose… you do not own a business, you own a job.

You may technically be free of a boss, but in reality, you work for the worst boss of all, your business.

If this describes your situation, I’ve got some good news.

First, you are not alone.  There are thousands and thousands of small business owners in exactly the same boat.

And secondly, there is hope.  You do not have to accept the status quo, you can do something about it.  Specifically, you need to adopt a new mindset, a new approach to your business that allows you to grow it to the point that it offers you freedom.  And you will need guidance as you make this transformation.  We have provided a wealth of helpful information on this website, and I’d be happy to speak to you if you would like additional help.

If you want a job, fine – go get a better one than working “for” your business!

If you want the freedom that comes from owning a successful business, now is the time to invest the time and effort that building a world-class company requires.
